New Android version- LOLLIPOP

ANDROID, the operating system for smart phones, was developed back in October 2003, and since then Android is ruling the market. As the technology is increasing, Android developers are also doing there best to satisfy their customers.

Android has gone through many changes, as we are well aware of the series of Android's software. And the latest software by the Android, which was released few weeks ago is LOLLIPOP. This 5.0 lollipop version of Android is also known as Android L.

So, today we are going to show the latest features of LOLLIPOP in the new Nexus phone, which is now released.

LOLLIPOP comes with many exciting features and is more secure now. If you ask me to describe it in a word, then i will say ANIMATIONS. Yes, you read it right. Lollipop is having many many animations in it.

FEATURES OF LOLLIPOP

NOTIFICATION AREA:

Notification area in lollipop has gone through many changes. In fact, this changes are really awesome.

When you swipe down the notifications, you will see the basic notifications. But, if you swipe down the notification area again, then you can see the quick settings there.

As you can see in the above snap shot, there are some extra features present here, which were not there in kit-kat. The flashlight, screen orientation lock and screen-cast button.

Flash-light toggle allows you to switch on or off the flashlight. 

Screen orientation gives you the liberty to decide whether you want your screen in portrait mode or in auto-rotate mode.

Screen-Cast will allow you to cast through TV if you have chrome cast.

Two times swiping your notification OR swiping notifications with two fingers will bring you the quick settings.

ANIMATIONS:

As i have said earlier, that the best synonym for Lollipop is Animation. Whatever you do on the phone is an animation. Right from your screen lock to everything else, including your notification area is an animation. You will not see a screen popping in or popping out, all you can see is just that it is coming from somewhere.

All that i can say about this animations is, it is a visual treat to the user.

LOCK SCREEN:

Even lock screen app is having an amazing animation. When you lock your screen you will see that the screen slowly turn into black and white color before shading off.

SCREEN PINNING:

One of the most interesting feature is SCREEN PINNING. Here, you can pin up a particular screen. Suppose, someone ask you, your phone just to send a message and in case, you can not trust that person, then you can use this feature.

To pin your screen, go to security > screen pinning > multi tasking app (pick up the tab, which they want to use) > pin it.

And now that person, can use only that particular app or tab. You can unpin the screen by long pressing the back and recent tab simultaneously.

PRIORITY SETTING MODE:

When you press the volume button, you can see three options. NONE, PRIORITY, and ALL. This is regarding your notifications. If you choose NONE mode, then you will not receive any notifications, not even alarms. If you chose PRIORITY, it will show only most important notification depending upon your choice, (you can also set the time for priority), and if you choose ALL mode, then you will receive all your notifications.

MULTI - USER/PROFILE SWITCHER:

Multi-users is the feature which is grabbing lots of eye-balls, even i found it to be very amazing. It allows you to share your phone with other people (which we can do with any other phone as well), but the best part is our information and our messages will be safe.

Let me elaborate it. When you click on the user symbol (from quick settings), you will see screen as shown in the above snapshot. If you want to give your phone to someone, so that they can use it for some days or like that, then you can switch to the guest profile.

Doing this will make your phone as fresh as you have bought. All the apps, which you have installed as well as your contact and conversations will be removed. Don't worry it will not remove it permanently.

When you get back your phone, you just need to switch from guest profile to your own profile, and you will find every app and contact which was installed. Isn't it amazing.???

MULTI-TASKING:

All your Google tabs and all the other tabs will be shown separately, when you click on recent activity button, you can see all your tabs right there. And if you want to open any tab you can just click on it, or if you want to close any, just swipe it to left side or the right.

BATTERY SAVER:

Batter saver is yet another amazing feature. We all want a smartphone whose battery lasts longer and longer (no matter how much we use it). So, lollipop is giving us this life saving feature.

When ever the battery comes down to 15% you can switch to the battery saver mode, it will turn your notification bar and bottom bar into orange color, indicating that your phone is running out of battery. It will automatically switch off the vibration mode and makes some more changes so that your phone can work for an extra hour. 

NOTE: All this features, of Lollipop has been used in Nexus phone.
